Home: Always a Work in Progress

"Perhaps Home is not one of those things that can ever be finished, just like one can never finish caring for a dog, a garden, a business, or a relationship. Home -- no matter how large or small, expensive or modest, urban or rural -- takes constant care and attention and creativity and when these are diverted elsewhere, the soul leaves the place, and the place ceases to be animated, ceases to be a manifestation of what we love, and often ceases to be Home altogether. But that can probably be said about anything that really matters."
